Archaeology

Ideas MedioAmbiental has an extensive team of its own to carry out archaeological work as a fundamental part of the study and protection of the historical-artistic and archaeological heritage. Archaeological evaluation is a process prior to the construction of works of different types, in which it is determined if there are archaeological remains in the area where it is going to be built and what is their importance. On the other hand, archaeological control is the monitoring and supervision of works in areas where archaeological remains could exist, to avoid their destruction or alteration.

The archaeological evaluation is carried out by carrying out archaeological studies and surveys in the area where it is going to be built. These studies may include the review of historical documents, the carrying out of mapping, the excavation of expert surveys and the collection of information from local communities and experts in the field. The objective of the archaeological evaluation is to determine if there are archaeological remains in the area and what their importance is.

For its part, archaeological control is carried out during the construction of a work in areas where it is possible that there are archaeological remains. The objective of archaeological control is to monitor the works to prevent the destruction or alteration of possible archaeological remains present in the area, and if vestiges are found during construction, to take measures for their protection and conservation.
Both processes are important for the protection and conservation of archaeological heritage, since they allow the identification of areas that must be protected and the adoption of measures to ensure the preservation of our historical heritage. In addition, the evaluation and control of the impact on heritage are fundamental to the knowledge of our cultural development throughout history.
